Charles H. Camp, MSW, ACSW, LISW, has his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Howard University in Washington DC.  He has been in private practice since 1990.  He graduated from the Des Moines Family Therapy Institute in 1985.  Charles has served as Chairman of the Impaired Practioners Committee for the State of Iowa and served on the Iowa Board for the Treatment of Sex Offenders.  For three years he was the coordinator of the Intra Family Sexual Abuse Program at Broadlawns Medical Center.  Training and consultation in the area of sexual trauma and abuse is a major area of expertise.  Individual, group, and family therapy addressing; communication difficulties, marital issues, conflicts of adolescents, and basic emotional difficulties of depression, anxiety, and grief compose his general counseling focus.  Areas of specialization include: sex and pornography addiction, EMDR, anger management, post-traumatic stress, and the treatment of sex offending behavior.  He is licensed by the Department of Corrections as a Sex Offender Treatment Specialist Level II.  Charles regularly completes Risk Assessments and Amenability to Treatment Evaluations for individuals, attorneys, and prosecutors.
